As you make your way further downstream the Cubango river and more major tributaries discharge their waters into it, the river gets wider and wider, with a steadier, slower water flow which will allows you to paddle more and cover more ground doing a mean distance of 25km a day on the river. On the other hand, a slower water flow implies more paddling and energy input from the team members, resulting in bigger exhaustion at the end of the day . However, you can still come across a few rapids!

In June 2016, two man team completed the first ever source-to-mouth expedition along the Kwanza River in Angola. They used a 40 year-old foldable wooden kayak that we paddled and carried along the 1,300km journey.
